Every person carries a creative voice;
we help them find it.

A life devoted to the healing voice of music.
Trained at the world’s most exacting music institutions and shaped by decades on stages, our founder built her career in service of a singular conviction: that music is more than art. It is medicine (a healing ointment for the world), memory, and mercy.
After years of performing for diverse audiences from concert halls and cathedrals to community-centered spaces, she founded I, Muse to explore the profound relationship between artist and audience and to give that conviction form, structure, and continuity.
She envisioned a space where inspiration flows freely between performer and listener, where each becomes the muse for the other.
"Every person carries a muse. Our work is not to create it, but to open a space where it can be heard."

WHO WE ARE
I, Muse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with a vision that extends nationally. We serve the "missing middle": individuals, artists, and communities whose creative potential is often overlooked by traditional arts programming and funding. Through performance, education, collaboration, and creative engagement, we create opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities to discover, express, and share their unique artistic voice.
OUR STORY
I, Muse was born from a simple observation: some of the most meaningful artistic experiences happen far beyond traditional concert halls and established arts institutions. Recognizing that many individuals, artists, and communities fall between traditional systems of arts support, we created an organization dedicated to fostering belonging, inspiring creativity, and creating transformative artistic experiences. We aspire to bridge that gap through meaningful artistic experiences that foster creativity, connection, and belonging. By listening first and partnering deeply, we help ignite the muse within™
