Anjoli M. Clayton

Violinist | Singer| Poet

 

Anjoli is a violinist, poet, arts leader, and Founder of I, Muse. She was inspired to play the violin from listening to Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, and she trained at the Summer programs of Levine School of Music, Encore School of Music and Meadowmount School of Music and was named a 2019 SphinxConnect: Leaders Rising Fellow. She also performed in the global LOVE Project 2020, part of the world’s largest virtual orchestral recording of Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture.

 

Anjoli studied Violin Performance at Shenandoah Conservatory and is a highest honors graduate of Berklee College of Music, where her poems were published. Her training also includes masterclass participation at the Juilliard Starling-Delay Symposium, and she has performed in masterclasses for renowned artists including Itzhak Perlman, Nancy Zhou, and Sarah Chang.

 

She has performed solo and orchestral works at major venues including The Kennedy Center, Strathmore Hall, Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, and Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Her orchestral experience includes performances with the Baltimore Symphony, Symphonicity, and the Northern Neck Orchestra, and she has collaborated on stage with GRAMMY Award–winning guitarist D.J. Sparr performing his original composition for violin & electric guitar at Sandler Center in October, 2022 "VIM: Hocket, Calm"

 

An avid chamber musician, she has premiered and performed original works and has been featured on award-winning symphonic recordings, including Jae Sinnett’s Live at the Sandler with Symphonicity.

 

Additional highlights include recording for Irish artist Sarah Croker’s debut album Meet the Day, being featured in a solo Holiday Pops performance at the Hennage Auditorium and Museum, and touring with performances of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” Through I, Muse, Anjoli creates spaces where inspiration ignites, creativity is shared, and music serves as a catalyst for meaningful connection and impact.

Multi-instrumentalist

Dr. Chris L. Clayton is a multi-instrumentalist, musician, and passionate advocate for the power of music across genres. He plays drums, guitar, and bass, bringing a dynamic and versatile approach to each instrument.

An avid collector of musical instruments, Chris has cultivated a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and history behind the sounds he creates. He has performed on small stages throughout the Hampton Roads area, contributing to the region’s vibrant local music scene.

His musical interests span widely, with a particular love for rock, classical, and video game music. Guided by a genuine enthusiasm for artistic expression, Chris continues to explore and celebrate music in all its forms.
